A beautiful example of a French chimney piece from the Rococo period: around 1750. It displays the sinuous lines that characterise the movement of Rococo design. Manufactured in statuary marble, the execution of this chimney piece with its free form carving is a test of the carver's art.
Shown here with the Cadogan fire basket and black slate hearth.
